Five injured in road accident

Five people escaped with injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a railway line from a bridge along Tsiranana road in Limbe on Saturday.

According to deputy Public Relations Officer for Limbe police station Widson Nhlane, the accident involved a Toyota Hilux double cabin pick up driven by 38-year-old Mike Lenard.

The car had five passengers on board and was coming from direction of Maselema heading to Mpingwe.

When it reached at Tsiranana Bridge, it hit the pillar of the bridge after the driver lost control and it plunged into the railway line below the bridge.

All of the vehicle’s occupants sustained injuries.

Four of the victims were treated as out-patients while one was admitted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
