…Red Lions, Silver Strikers to battle for quarterfinal spot…

 The 2017 Carlsberg Cup round of 16 fixtures, dates, venues and kick-off times have been confirmed by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM).

The round of 16 is scheduled to kick-off from Wednesday next week, with the final match of the round being played on August 6 before the quarterfinal fixtures.

On Wednesday next week, two time champions Nyasa Big Bullets will host the 2012 winners Kamuzu Barracks at Chilomoni Stadium in the commercial city of Blantyre, with Dwangwa United welcoming 2012 runners up Moyale Barracks at Chitowe Stadium.

At Balaka Stadium, Red Lions will entertain last year’s runners up Silver Strikers. Both matches will kick-off from 14h00.

On Sunday, Kasungu Police will entertain MDF Marine at Nankhaka Stadium. Both teams are making their debut appearances in the round 16 of the competition. In another Sunday fixture, the winner between TN Stars and Prison United over the weekend will play Blue Eagles.

On Wednesday, 2nd August 2017, defending champions Be Forward Wanderers will host Mafco FC at Balaka Stadium and on Friday, 4th August 2017, giant killers Michiru Madrid will battle it out for a place in the quarterfinal against Chitipa United at Chilomoni Stadium.

The last match in the round of 16 will see Cobbe Barracks entertaining Blantyre United at Balaka Stadium.

Both matches will kick-off from 14h00.
