…Nomads, Wizards, Bullets and Blantyre United in crucial away fixtures

Week 11 of the 2017 Malawi Super League will see four Blantyre based teams travelling to Central and Northern Regions in quest for maximum points.

Pick of the weekend will be clashes involving current league leaders Be Forward Wanderers and Civil Sporting Club on Saturday before a Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets game on Sunday at Civo Stadium.

Coming straight from a hard fought 2-1 victory over third placed Red Lions last week, Nomads coach Yasin Osman knows how crucial their two games are if they are to cement their position at the top.

Before departing for Lilongwe, Osman admitted that every team will be coming very hard on them since they are the current leaders but vowed to collect maximum points by the end of the weekend.

“It’s always tough when you are on top because each and every team will be coming very hard on you but we have a strategy in principle to collect six points so that we remain league leaders,” he told the local media.
However, his side is facing a very much improved team which started the season on a very poor note but eventually shaped up with brilliant display of football in many of the matches they have played so far.

The Servants were in Blantyre for the 2017 Carlsberg Cup round of 32 clash with Nyasa Big Bullets and demonstrated how good they are on the field of play despite losing 2-1 to the home side.

The Lilongwe based side has vowed to stop Wanderers from running away with the title saying the visitors will meet their match at Civo.
In another match, rookies Blantyre United will be welcomed by Mzuni FC at Mzuzu Stadium in what promises to be an exciting fixture.

The Green Intellectuals are currently passing through tough times in the domestic flight having registered back to back defeats in the league and in the Carlsberg Cup.

On the other part, Blantyre United recorded their second victory in the league last week by beating defending champions Kamuzu Barracks, with their coach Safarao Pompi saying the journey has now started for the rookies.

At Chitowe Stadium, Dwangwa United will entertain Premier Bet Wizards in another epic Super League clash.

The Blantyre based side are currently 6th on the log table having lost 2-1 to Moyale Barracks last week.

This will be the ultimate test for Trevor Kajawa’s boys who started the league on a very high note but their defeat last week has sent a strong warning to Wizards that the journey is far from over.

On Sunday, Bullets will travel to Civo Stadium to play Silver Strikers in the pick of the day clash.

The two teams faced each other on 6th July as part of Malawi’s Independence Celebrations in which the visitors won 2-1 but before the clash, the Central Bankers had earlier last month booted the Blantyre based giants out of the just ended Airtel Top 8 Knockout Cup.

A win for either side will put this year’s championship race into another direction with top five teams all eyeing the top position.

Without Dalitso Sailesi, who has just signed for Lusaka Dynamos of Zambia, Bullets will have an ultimate test against the eight time Super League champions.

At Dedza Stadium, rookies Masters Security FC will play host to Be Forward Wanderers while Moyale Barracks will entertain Blantyre United at Mzuzu Stadium.

In Dwangwa, Mafco Fc will welcome Wizards at Chitowe Stadium.
