Speaking during the 5+1 all inclusive stakeholders conference currently underway in Blantyre on Thursday, the archbishop faulted MBC for using his quote out of contest.

Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa lashes out at MBC.

“We had a meeting with the head state as one way of president to interact with the clergy, when I arrived there I was told that I will be the chair for the group of the faith community and that as soon as the head of state finishes his speech I should speak, in his speech the president acknowledged the faith community to be partners in development as he cited, the role that churches play on education, health and the like.”

“In my speech I assured the head of state that we will continue doing that and I said we will support him. But these words are now being used out of contest as if am supporting everything in this country that government is doing, I am angry because that’s unfair but because I am a religious man I have forgiven them,” said Msusa.

He further urged government to listen to advice that the public give it on matters of national interest.

“Am not a prophet but I can say that the power of a gun shall not be feared one day,” he added in an angry tone.

Leader of government delegation at the PAC’s meeting, minister of justice and constitutional affairs Samuel Tembenu apologized to the Archbishop for MBC’s conduct.
