Malawi’s former Police Inspector General (IG) Peter Mukhito has exchanged wedding vows with his new wife Chance Mwale.

Mukhito who is State House chief of staff officially married Chance at St Patrick Parish in Lilongwe on Saturday.

The former police boss, Mukhito, 58, and Chance, 26, later had a glamorous reception at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC).

Malawi’s First Lady Gertrude Mutharika who attended the wedding gave a fridge to newly wedded couple as a gift.

According to reports, Mukhito has been married before and Chance is his fifth wife.

Mukhito was Police IG during late Bingu wa Mutharika’s administration when a Chancellor College (Chanco) lecture was summoned by the police for giving an example that did not favour the Mutharika government.

  11. Peter Denis Mandebvu appears more aggrieved. His contributions are full of emotions. Peter Mukhito indeed married and divorced his first wife long time ago. He engaged Chance Ndida Mwale in 2010 at a function that was held in Area 47. It was a public function. By then, Peter was the Police Chief. In 2012, Peter was sacked by Joice Ntila Banda. Peter stayed with Chance in their nice home in Rea 43 until he was appointed as the Director General of State Residences. Mind you, Peter is not a pushover. He is a level headed person that even Joice Ntila Banda failed to nail him down when she was in power. What Peter has done is to formalise his second marriage in his original, Catholic church. Chance Ndida Mwale is clocking her 40 years on 29th May. They both have three lovely kids and continue to enjoy they flambayount life. The problem with Malawians is poverty and mental mulfunction. My humble request is Malawians, avoid to hurt others and mind your own business. Avoid poking your noses where they don’t belong.
