Chitipa United say they are ready to play in the 2017 Tnm Super League if they secure promotion to the top flight league this season.

The club’s general secretary Marshall Mwenechanya said in an interview with this publication that the team is ready to pull more surprises in the top league next year as they look to be crowned Simama Northern Region League champions this season.

Currently, Chitipa United are two points away from being promoted into the top flight league with two games to wind up their season as they are leading the log table with 86 points from 36 games.

According to Mwenechanya, it has been their dream to play in the Super League and they will work hard to get the promotion.

“It has been our dreams as Chitipa United to do well and get promotion to the top flight league. We are promising to pull much surprises and get settled into the league for other seasons to come,” he said.

He further said that he is confident that Chitipa will earn promotion to play in the elite league and they will handle pressure in the Tnm Super league because they have a crop of good players. “We are very confident of doing well, if promoted in the sense that, we have a good crop of young talented players who are capable of handling any pressure from any opponents,” Mwenechanya said.

Speaking about Simama league administration, the Chitipa general secretary said as newcomers in the league they have learnt a lot and they are still learning on how the league is being governed but he said that as a club they have seen a few problems that needs to be addressed in the administration of the Simama league.

He said that the Simama league administration releases fixtures in bits which gives teams less time to prepare.

“We have observed few errors that requires much attention like fixtures are given in bits instead that makes teams to have no ample time for preparations.

“But all in all, the administration will be far much better if such problems are looked into in a good time,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chitipa United will play against second placed Kapolo Stars on Saturday 24 December at their own backyard before playing their final fixture away from home against Mchengautaba on 30th December 2016.

They just need two points from the two fixtures to earn promotion.
