KB (In White) go top.

The first chance of the game came as early as two minutes after kickoff after Kamuzu’s Defoe Simeon was well set outside the Area 30 cops’ penalty area but his shot was deflected for a corner by a Blue Eagles defender.

The breakthrough of the match arrived in the 37th minute of the half when Banda’s well driven in powerful shot found the back of the net and it was 1 nil in favour of the Lilongwe based soldiers.

After that goal the Area 30 cops started dominating the proceedings of the match as their midfield started ticking but they lacked the scoring composure inside the Kamuzu Barracks box and the half ended 1 nil in favour of the soldiers.

Kamuzu Barracks continued to control the game after the break and Simeon saw his well taken shot saved by Blue Eagles goal custodian John Soko.

The Area 30 cops spurned an opening when Davie Phiri missed the target from the edge of the area, before Kamuzu Barracks created a couple of clear chances in quick succession.

Eight minutes before the close of the second half, Chiyesa scored Kamuzu Barracks’ second goal which also proved to be the winner.

After that goal Blue Eagles did all what they could have to get back into the game but the soldiers defended jealously and the game ended 2 nil.

Speaking to the media after the game, Kamuzu Barracks coach Billy Phambala said he was happy with the win and added that they will keep on working hard so that they should win their remaining two games against Karonga United and Dwangwa United. Blue Eagles coach Dekleck Msakakuona conceded defeat.
