Be Forward Wanderers missed a chance to close the gap on top four in Malawi’s top flight league as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Moyale Barracks at MDC stadium in Blantyre.

The hosts started brightly as they created lots of goal scoring chances but they lacked the finishing composure inside the penalty box.

Midway through the first half Kaliati scored Be Forward’s goal when he headed in a Mike Kaziputa cross and it was 1 nil in favour of the Lali Lubani boys.

After that goal, chances kept on flowing for the Lali Lubani boys as Amos Bello saw his shot well saved by the Moyale Barracks goal minder after he was well set.

Thirty minutes into the first half the visitors started taking the game away from the hosts as Gaston Simkonda and Chrispin Fukizi created lots of problems inside Wanderers’ defence but Richard Chipuwa in goals for the Nomads was fantastic as he made some saves to deny the visitors from finding the back of the net.

As the first half was going towards the end, the Nomads had another chance through Peter Wadabwa who saw his shot well saved by Moyale goal custodian and the half ended 1 nil in favour of the Nomads.

Come second half, it took only six minutes for the visitors to level the scoreline.

After that goal Moyale Barracks kept on dominating the match at MDC stadium as they were displaying good football and looked more dangerous on counter attacks but the Nomads goal custodian Chipuwa was on his good form this afternoon as he kept on producing good saves to keep denying the visitors and the game ended 1-1,

Speaking after the game, Nomads team manager Steve Madeira said he was not happy with the result and added that they did not play their usual game.

Moyale Barracks coach said he was happy with the result and said they will work hard tomorrow when they take on Wizards at MDC stadium so that they should collect 4 points from a possible 6 points in Blantyre.
