Musician Piksy is having a grand farewell to 2016 with his latest releases Kameneka and ndikungo creating a buzz across media platforms locally.
Released on 28th November and produced by Famous, both songs have gone all the way to conquer urban music charts. The latest works are enjoying airplay on local radio stations while getting more downloads on music sites.
Talk of the prestigious web chart, the top 100 on Malawi music dot com, Kameneka and Ndikungo have occupied the first and second spots respectively. A good number of downloads to the songs, contributed to their ranks among other factors considered.
Despite conveying different messages the songs have had an almost equal impact on the receiving end. Kameneka is a love song whereas Ndikungo addresses real life issues, specifically stress related. The Blantyre based musician maintains his style which is mainly identified by dramatic pronunciations of words.
2016 has been a great year for Chimfana Chodziwika ndi Boma in terms of music success. He was nominated in the Kora awards in the best Southern Africa category for his song Moto. In March he released one of the best songs in local urban circles, Angozo, which features Lulu and Tay Grin.
He has bounced back after an ugly 2015 when his album launch for Mthunzi got poorly patronised. It’s now show after show, hit after hit, what a year 2016 has been for Piksy.
