Man hangs himself in Nkhatabay

A 21 year-old man identified as James Ali has died after hanging himself in Nkhatabay district.

According to information from Nkhatabay Police Public Relations Officer Ignatius Esau, on December 12 2016, James was with his family members chatting and at a later stage he told his elder brother that he was going to take a bath.

A few minutes later, the elder brother heard strange sound from James’ house and he immediately went inside the house to see what was going on.

To his surprise, he found his younger brother hanging to the roof of his bedroom. With fellow family members, they cut the rope and rushed James to Chilambwe health center where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Postmortem that was conducted at the same health facility revealed that James died due to strangulation.

James Ali, who did not leave any suicide note, hailed from Kachipapa village in the area of Traditional Authority Mankhambira in Nkhatabay district.
