Speaking after the donation, Mayor Chapondera said Maula prison has over the years been a trusted partner to Lilongwe City Council and rendered grass cutting services in many parts of the city especially during the rainy seasons on voluntary basis.

According to Chapondera, it is in this regard that Lilongwe City Council through the Mayor’s Cheer Fund saw it befitting to assist the Maula prison.

The mayor donated 100 bags of 50kgs maize, 250kgs of maize seedlings, 6 bales of sugar, 25 litrers of cooking oil, 200 hoe handles and 100kgs of red beans.
