President Peter Mutharika has appointed Nyakwawa Usiwausiwa as new high court judge Malawi24 can confirm.
According to the statement from OPC Mutharika in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 111 sub section (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi, has appointed His Honour Nyakwawa Usiwausiwa as a Judge of the High Court.
The statement that has been signed by Goerge Mkondiwa reads that the appointment is with immediate effect.
Recently Mutharika appointed four high court judges but unfortunately on of the judges justice George Bakuwa died in Zambia while on duty.
He hit the headlines when he sentenced two gays to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour some years ago.
