Mutharika condoles Muluzi over daughter’s death

President Peter Mutharika has sent condolences to former President Bakili Muluzi over the death of his daughter Esmie Muluzi Malisita who was struck by lightning in Blantyre.

Malisita was struck by lightning together with her friend Hazel Busile at the former’s farm in Mpemba.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Mutharika described late Malisita as a humble and considerate woman.

“Those of us who interacted with the deceased will remember her as a polite and well-mannered religious woman who treated everyone with love and consideration.

“Our condolences to the deceased’s father former President Dr Bakili Muluzi, Honorable Atupele Muluzi and the entire family; the Malisitas and friends for the shocking loss”

“Reports say Mrs Malisita was in the company of her friend Hazel Busile who has also died in the same accident. So to the Busile family and friends, we also offer our condolences,” Mutharika wrote.

Meanwhile the body of late Malisita will be laid to rest on Friday.

According to reports, the Muluzi family is waiting for Malisita’s mother Annie Muluzi who is in the United States to come so that she should attend the burial.
