A Be Forward Wanderers fan has been banned for a year having slapped a referee who officiated the team’s match against Civo United on 15th October 2016, Malawi24 has learnt.
The fan, Charles Lizigeni had slapped the referee after a few decision the ref made.
According to the Super League of Malawi (Sulom), the conduct displayed by Lizigeni was un-called for and not condoned.
”We would like to commend the quick action shown by the stewards and police on duty who managed to apprehend the culprit” a statement signed by Sulom’s General Secretary Williams Banda reads in part.
