Flames U-20 out of Cosafa Cup

Two games without a win and without a goal was enough to send the Junior Flames out of this year’ Cosafa Castle Cup tournament which is being hosted by South Africa.

The Junior Flames were humbled by Zambia before playing to a goalless against Zimbabwe on Friday last week.

According to the rules of the tournament, only top teams in the four groups that will progress to the semifinals of the competition.

However, Malawi will play their last game against Mozambique in a crossover match. Even if the team beats Mozambique, Zambia will still make it into the next round as they have six points from their two games.

The team’ head coach picked a youthful side from which the majority of the players came from FMB Under 20.

Malawi are second in their group with a point from two games.

  1. Don’t rush into posting news without thoroughly investigating it ! Flames U20 is not out of the cup despite not winning any game. The first 2 teams from each group progress to the second stage, and malawi has finished second.
