A one year-old girl has died after a wall fell on her following a fight between her parents, Malawi24 can report.
Kasungu Police spokesperson Edna Mzingwitsa has identified the little girl as Memory Levison.
She said the law enforcers have arrested the child’s father, 37 year-old Paul Levison, for his role in the death of the girl.
According to Mzingwitsa, Levison picked up a quarrel with his wife over family matters.
“Amidst the fight, the man pushed the wife and she fell on a loose wall which eventually fell over the child,” Mzingwitsa said.
The child was later pronounced dead and postmortem report indicated that she died due to head injuries.
The father was therefore arrested and has been charged with murder as he acted contrary to section 209 of the penal code.
Levison hails from Katutula village in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Kabudula in Lilongwe district.
