Nyasa Big Bullets suspended general secretary Kelvin Moyo has demanded the team’s executive committee to reinstate him to his position if he is to appear before the club’s disciplinary committee.
Moyo was suspended some weeks ago for ‘insubordinate’ behaviour following his public outburst over match fixing allegations by an executive member in the team’s board of trustees.
He was supposed to appear before the disciplinary committee over the weekend but he did not arrive for a hearing saying the only condition for him to appear before the committee was to see his suspension being lifted by the club.
“I will not appear before the committee if my suspension is not lifted,” he told the local media.
According to the outspoken Moyo, one of the members in the board of trustees (name withheld) told the team’s technical panel not to panic before facing Mafco FC in the quarterfinals of the Carlsberg Cup saying he had already fixed the match.
These remarks did not go well with Moyo who summoned the board of trustees committee to answer on the impending issue.
To make matters worse, Moyo is said to have copied the letter to three journalists (names withheld) before hearing from the executive committee.
These actions angered the board of trustees who suspended Moyo from his position and told him to hand over everything to his deputy until the investigations were done.
And reacting to his suspension, Moyo threatened the club that he will drop a bomb like that of Hiroshima if the issue wasn’t treated with caution.
It is still not known as to when the Bullets general secretary will appear before the committee.
