Mzuzu based boxer Malani Kayuni on Sunday beat soldier Wilson shasha Masamba on points in an eight round non-title bout which took place at Obrigado Leisure park.

Masamba dominated the first two rounds but Kayuni came with hard punches especially in last two rounds where Masamba was downed before he gained power to stand up and fight.

After the bout, Kayuni said that’s what he was expecting. “Since I came here from Lilongwe things are going well for me and I am a different Malani now, my working hard is helping me a lot,” he said. While his counterpart Wilson Masamba claimed that he deserved to win. “I won the bout but judges are much biased, that’s why here in the north boxing will never go far, and this is my last time coming here I will never come back.
