Music festival and show organisers in the country say they are ready to promote and nurture up and coming artists in the local music industry.

This was said by one of the well-known music festival and show organisers Timothy Chikoti who is the Chief Executive Officer of Cream Malawi Company which has organised a gospel show slated for 11th December 2016 at Robins Park in Blantyre.

In an interview with Malawi24, Chikoti said his company appreciates up and coming talent that is why it includes them in every show it organises as part of promoting the new blood in the local urban music industry.

Speaking on the gospel show slated for today, Chikoti said his company has been hosting secular shows and now it wants to touch the other side of Malawians since some people prefer gospel music while others like secular music.

On challenges they meet when organising shows, Chikoti told this publication that the greatest challenge is understanding between the organisers and the musicians because some musicians withdraw at the last minute.

Answering on the monetary point, he said his company has never failed to pay artists because they have once worked with big names such as Skeffa Chimoto and Lulu without any problems.

Meanwhile, Cream Malawi is also planning to host the last secular show of the year at Robins Park where big artists such as Theo Thomson, Black Missionaries and Lucius Band will perform.
