Pamchenga gospel festival starts today

The long awaited Pamchenga gospel festival will start today at Livingstonia beach in the lakeshore district of Salima.

The festival which will run from today to 4 December is the first ever gospel festival of this nature to be held in Malawi

. In a special interview with Malawi24 on Tuesday, Pamchenga Gospel festival communications and corporate affairs director Tamika Milimbo said all preparations for the event were at an advanced stage.

“We are at very advanced stage and we are prepared to host Malawians all over Malawi to witness the first Gospel festival of this nature, artists are ready and practices are in play,” said Milimbo.

He further assured Malawians not to worry of security as there will be full security provided all days and that tents from the Malawi Defence Force will be erected around the stage in case its rainy or sunny.

During the event, gospel lovers will enjoy a feel of divine touch on the shores of Lake Malawi as this year organisers have invited celebrated Zambian artist Ephraim as the guest artist.

During the days people will enjoy a massive airplay on the countries’ sampled radio stations as 32 artists are scheduled to perfom and there will also be sermons by various speakers including the prominent Pastor Joseph Ziba.

According to Milimbo, family tickets are going at K40 000 for five and individual tickets are at K10 000 and are being sold via various outlets such as Puma filling stations in Lilongwe, Shoprite in Mzuzu and Fountain of Victory Church International in Blantyre.
