Be Forward Wanderers have joined the football world in paying tribute to Brazilian club Chapecoense after a plane carrying the team crashed, killing 76 people and injuring many of those on board.

On their official facebook page, the Nomads joined the rest of the world in mourning for the departed souls.

“BE FORWARD Wanderers FC joins the football world in mourning together with our brothers and sisters who lost their loved ones in Brazilian plane crash in Columbia. We appreciate that travel is one of the hazards in football that we have to live with.”

“We wish there was an easier and safer way to get to matches and back but unfortunately such a way has not been discovered yet. We pray to God to comfort the bereaved families and to receive the souls of all those who lost their lives in the plane crash,” said Wanderers on their official facebook page.

Electical fault downed the aircraft as the team travelled to the Colombian city of Medellin to contest the Copa Sudamerica final against Atletico Nacional.

Tributes flooded in from the football community as CONMEBOL, South America’s football governing body suspended football on the continent until further notice.

  1. Hi Malawi24 journalist
Check your facts before writing a story. This is a simple principle in journalism. 71 people dead and 6 injured. As of yesterday, one survivor ( a goalkeeper passed away ) so it’s 72 dead, 5 injured. Good day
