The first phase for the revenue enhancement campaign is a thorough inspection on all business licences.

“The Lilongwe City Council will in the process be making spot checks and ensure that all businesses have licences that are legal and signed by authorized officers,” reads the statement.

The statement adds that the campaign will also ensure annual payments are up to date.

“The campaign will also ensure that the business is operating within the applied license conditions where the above standards are neglected, the business will risk being closed and licences will be revoked immediately,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, the Lilongwe City Council has appealed to the general public especially those operating various businesses in the city to support this operation and adhere to laws and requirements.
