Judge Bakuwa to be laid to rest today

The body of the newly appointed high court Judge George Bakuwa will be laid to rest today at his home village Kachule in Dedza district.

The late Bakuwa died on Thursday due to high blood pressure while in Zambia on official duties. He was expected to take up his post as judge on December 1.

The body of the late judge arrived in the country on Sunday through Chileka airport in Blantyre and later a church service under CCAP faith was conducted before proceeding to College of Medicine (CoM) mortuary.

Confirming on the local media, spokesperson for the judiciary Mlenga Mvula said the late Judge will be buried on Monday after vigils at his residence in Chigumula Township in Blantyre.

Bakuwa was appointed as high court judge on October 5 by President Peter Mutharika.

Born on January 7, 1966 Bakuwa worked as magistrate before joining ADMARC where he served as company secretary.
