Hebrews 12:16-17 ” Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For you know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

Have faith.

People have accused Jacob of stealing blessings from Esau. However the truth of the matter is that Jacob was the rightful owner of the blessings because Esau had already sold the Birthright. Its only that their father was not informed. If the father had blessed Esau, he could have been stealing the blessings from the rightful owner Jacob.

Esau was so careless that He didn’t value the Birthright he had and thought a plate of soup was more than the future. As Christians we have more than money. We need to value what we have. We cannot exchange our right as children of God with passing pleasures. Actually as children of God the Word says we own all things.1 Cor 3:21….” For everything belongs to you,”

The Word says we are coheirs with Christ.Rom 8:16-17 ” The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children. And if children, then heirs (namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ) – if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him.”

We are blessed with all spiritual blessings.Eph 1:3 “Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.”

However in life there are some pressing needs and challenges that may need immediate attention or quick solutions. When right solutions are not immediately available, some Christians would go for wrong but quicker solutions. These may include selling Christianity to find job, finances, child in a family, or any other things. This is what Esau did and it was difficult for him to reverse.

Reuben, just as Esau wanted also to satisfy his desires. He had temporal sexual desires to be fulfilled and sold his future with that.He slept with one of His fathers concubines and lost it forever. 1 Chro5:1 ” Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; so that he is not enrolled in the genealogy according to the birthright. Though Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came the leader, yet the birthright belonged to Joseph)”

There are Pastors, leaders and other people who sold their future to satisfy their temporal desires or needs. They cry trying to reverse the situation but they are failing. Dont exchange permanent valuables with the temporary desires.

Prayer
Thank you father for my status of being the child of God. Thank you for my inheritance as a member of your family. I am blessed with all spiritual blessings and will never exchange with passing pleasures. In Jesus name. AMEN.
