Speaking in an interview with Malawi24 on Tuesday afternoon, Malawi Police spokesperson James Kadadzera said Police have intensified their efforts in ensuring a crime free Christmas period in this year.

“Now that we are approaching the festive season, we have engaged an extra gear to make sure that the season is crime free. We have Police officers on the ground to make sure that they are investigating on any possible criminal activity.

“We have also taken an extra step by having day and night patrols in rural as well as urban areas to ensure that communities are secured at any second,” Kadadzera said.

He then advised motorists to be responsible bearing in mind that persuasion is better than force arguing that the police will take to court any motorist found on the wrong side of the law. Kadadzera has also appealed to the public to be responsible with life during the festive period saying they should resist swimming while drunk.

During the 2015 Christmas period police in Southern region of Malawi recorded zero reports of accidents though they registered criminal activities including robbery.

  5. As their first precaution measure, Malawi police officers doth go about the streets and arrest all the poor civilians that walks on foot, all that they find in the rest rooms and all those that keep on drinking after 22:00 PM. is that reformation or deformation?

  6. I wonder if they will repeat the same precaution measures they have been giving us over the year on radio.
