40 hardcore criminals cornered in Limbe
Police have arrested 40 suspected criminals during a sweeping exercise in Limbe.
Deputy Public Relations Officer Widson Nhlane has confirmed to Malawi 24 of the arrests.
Nhlane said this was after a sweeping exercise which was conducted last night the 8th of November 2016.
“It is true that we conducted a sweeping exercise last night and we managed to arrest 40 suspects ” he explained .
He however said the suspects have been charged with different counts.
Among the crimes that the suspects have been charged with are robbery with trick , theft , receiving stolen property and robbery with violence .
Meanwhile police have assured that they have tightening security as we are approaching Christmas and new year celebrations .
The suspects will appear before court to answer charges revelled against them .
