Police in Zomba have arrested four fellow police officers on allegations that they have been stealing money from complainants and suspects.
National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera confirmed the arrest to Malawi24.
But Kadadzera refused to comment further on the issue saying it will jeopardise their investigations.
“Yes l can confirm that we have arrested four police officers but our investigations are still under way,” he explained .
The Spokesperson assured that the officers will face the law regardless of their status as officers.
He said that they will handled as any citizen of the country is handled when found to have broken the law.
Kadadzera promised that the suspects identities will be revealed once the investigations are over.
The spokesperson has since warned other police officers in the country to refrain from such malpractice as they will not spared .
