With five games remaining to wind up the 2016 Tnm super league season, it looks likely that MTV Maxi Bullets will be relegated in Malawi’s top flight league and the race to avoid relegation is getting hotter week in, week out.

MTV Maxi Bullets owner Maxwell Kapanda last week out of frustration conceded that his team has been relegated from Malawi top flight league following the Super league of Malawi’s (SULOM) to award points to Epac fc after Maxi Bullets caused an abandonment of their game inside 20 minutes due to match officials biasness towards Epac fc a few weeks ago.

Following Kapanda’s decision to withdraw from the super league it now means that there are only two places, and four teams fighting for their Tnm super league survival.

The four teams who are currently fighting for their survival are namely; Dwangwa United, Premier Bet Wizards, Civo United and Karonga United.

MTV Maxi Bullets
MTV Maxi Bullets have a mountain to climb.

Dwangwa united free points which they were awarded after MTV Maxi Bullets has given them a lifeline that their destiny will be in their own hands as the points have pushed them out of the relegation to position 12 on the table and they are now odds-on favorites to avoid relegation.

Their superior go difference over Wizard means they need to win at least all of their remaining games in order to ensure their survival in the Tnm super league.

Wizards fc win over Kamuzu Barracks has also given them a lifeline as they are now also on odds favourites to also avoid relegation and their destiny in the league will be decided by them as they are now on position 13 on the log.

They now have to at least win all their remaining 5 matches and be hoping that Civo United and Dwangwa United should be dropping many points than them in their final 4 and 5 matches respectively to avoid returning to Malawi’s second tie league.

Civo United form, this season is not that impressive and they are on position 14 on the log table with 21 points and they are just a point lesser of safety and they still have much work to do if they want to survive the chop in Malawi top league.

The Civo servants need to win all their remaining four fixtures and be hoping that Dwangwa, Wizard and Karonga United should be dropping more points in their last 5 matches respectively.

Karonga United also have much work to do in order to remain in Malawi’s top flight league following their 3-1 loss to Mafco fc last weekend that left them second bottom with 18 points from 22 matches.

The Karonga based side must now win both of their remaining games, while hoping that Dwangwa United, Civo and Wizards should not be picking many points than them in order to survive the chop.

A million dollar question is who will face the chop in the 2016 Tnm super league?
