Former Malawi national football team captain John Maduka has been named as Bloemfontein Celtic interim coach in the wake of Head Coach Serame Letsoaka’s sacking on Sunday.

Celtic Chief Executive Officer Khumbulani Konco confirmed that their former captain Maduka has been appointed as the team’s interim coach and will be assisted by Lehlohonolo Seema.

Celtic coach Letsoaka was fired a day after losing 1-2 to BidVest Wits in a league match and Konco said the coach has been sacked due to the team’s poor run of results.

“Unfortunately, results are not forthcoming and the reality is that football is results driven. After our meeting with the coach, we agreed to part ways,” Konco told the club’s website.

“It was not an easy decision to take, purely because of our healthy relationship with the coach. We would like to wish him all of the best in his future endeavours.” he added.

This will be Maduka’s first ever high profile coaching job.

  3. Maduka doesn’t deserves to be a coach and he won’t last. he’s too quiet last night he sit on the bench all the game without instructing his players, his assistance coach is the one who stand on touch line giving instructions to the players.I don’t think he’s a coach better to his managerial role
