18 year old drowns in a stream

An 18 -year -old woman from Kasungu district was found dead after drowning in a stream where she went to fetch water to irrigate her farm.

Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kasungu police Harry Namwaza has confirmed of the incident.

Namwaza said the incident occurred on 31st October .

He explained that on the material day , the deceased who is epileptic went to her garden to water crops.

” As she was drawing the water , she fell into the stream and died there ” he explained.

Police say postmortem results showed  that she died due to suffocation .

Police have since advised relatives with people having such health problems to restrict them from going to out without any company.

The deceased whose identity is not known hailed from Ngoleka village ,Traditional Authority Kapelula in Kasungu district .
