Pritchard Mwansa’s side revamped their 2016 super league season by swimming in an unbeaten run of 4 games which has helped them to climb to position 11 on the table with 29 points from 23 matches and they are remaining with 5 games to wind up their season.

Glancing at the Zomba based soldiers first opening games which were played from April 17 to May 14, Red Lions only registered a single win from their first five games and they only scored 2 goals and conceding 9 goals in four matches.

But that is not the case now as the soldiers have overturned the tables.

They have had 4 wins against, Azam Tigers, Dwangwa United, Blue Eagles, MTV Maxi Bullets and a single draw with Nyasa Big Bullets a game which ended 3-3 two weeks ago.

The army team has been a hard nut to crack since the start of the second round but their 1 nil win against Azam Tigers on  25 September, 2016 at Zomba stadium has been very vital.

The win gave them the advantage in the race for survival as the 2016 Tnm super league finish line is approaching.

Red Lions’ recent assignment was away to MTV Maxi Bullets and the soldiers came out as victors when they beat the Chiradzulu based side 2-0 with last season’s top goal scorer Innocent Bokosi hitting one of the goals.

The Zomba based soldiers have played 23 matches out of which 23 they have lost 10 matches, drawing 5 matches and winning 8 matches.

Red Lions have so far scored 26 goals and they have conceded 27 goals from their last 23 matches that they have played so far.

They have 5 games to wind up their season, and are 10 points above the drop zone and it is with no doubt that their destiny is in their own hands.
