Malawi national netball coach Griffin Saenda has released a 10 member Malawi Queens squad for the coming Fast5 World Netball Series in Australia.

The Malawi Queens will be without their experienced attacker Sindi Simtowe who has been dropped on injury grounds and will also be without defender and captain Caroline Ngwira who misses out due to lack of fitness.

Saenda has entrusted his confidence in Mwawi Kumwenda to lead the team’s slaughtering mission alongside Blue Eagles attacker Joyce Mvula. The other players are Towera Nyirenda, Joana Kachilika, Grace Mwafulirwa, Bridget Kumwenda, Thandie Sayenda, Takondwa Lwazi, Jessica Sanudi and Jane Chimaliro.

According to NAM, the team will leave the country on Monday for the Fast5 World Netball Series in Australia.

The Queens will first face Australia, followed by England before meeting Jamaica in their three opening games at the tournament.

However, many netball followers have expressed dissatisfaction over Saenda’s decision to leave out Alinafe Kamwana who was voted best shooter of the tournament for both the Gotv trophy and Presidential cup.

The list of players called up is as follows;

Mwayi Kumwenda, Joyce Mvula, Towera Nyirenda, Joana Kachilika, Grace Mwafulirwa. Bridget Kumwenda, Thandie Sayenda, Takondwa Lwazi, Jessica Sanudi and Jane Chimaliro.

The list also include Samuel Kanyenda as the assistant coach, Junier Kazembe as the team doctor, and Jane Kachali as the Team Manager.
