Be Forward Wanderers were second best as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kamuzu Barracks in a TNM Super League match at Civo stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.

Nomads: Fall on the hands of Kamuzu Barracks.

The eighth minute of the first half was painful for the Nomads following an aerial ball which saw Harvey Mkacha head in to make it 1-0.

Few minutes later, Kamuzu Barracks were awarded a penalty after Bongani Kaipa pulled down Harvey Mkacha. But Nomads goalkeeper saved the penalty and it was 1-0 at the end of the first half.

However, Kamuzu Barracks doubled their lead four minutes after the break when Chipuwa fumbled the ball to let an unmarked Kamuzu player to score.

The Nomads then introduced Khumbo Ng’ambi who soon pulled one back after receiving a good ball from Fabian Ozokokwo to make the game end a 2-1.

In his words, Team Manager for Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Steve Madeira said they made a silly mistake that made life difficult for themselves.

“Bad day today, we keep on conceding early goals, I thought it will be our day but unfortunately we gifted them a goal through a silly mistake that made life difficult for ourselves,” Madeira said.

Coach for Kamuzu Barracks Billy Phambala said he is proud of his boys for defeating the nomads, and further said the good play will still continue as there is no turning back.

“I knew that am going to defeat these people, and I think I should say Wanderers should thank their God because today we were supposed to give them more than three goals,” said Phambala.

Today’s result means the Nomads will be travelling back to Blantyre with three points following their 2-1 win against Civo on Saturday
