East or west, home’s best. Well, he left the country some years ago for a professional football in Mozambique but Chimango Kayira has decided to come back and start afresh.

He was a pillar in Nyasa Big Bullets’ midfield but got an opportunity to play for Costa do Sol where he won trophies in his three year stay with the club.

However, with three games to go before wrapping up the Mocambola league, Kayira has decided not to renew his contract saying time has come for him to return home but was quick to reveal that he is yet to decide on his next move once he return to his mother country.

“It has been a wonderful three year journey with Costa do Sol but time has come to say bye and return home where I will be able to start afresh. The decision not to renew my contract has nothing to do with treatment, ever since I arrived, the management has been good to me but I have just decided not to continue my journey with Costa do Sol.”

“I won several trophies with the club but of late, things haven’t gone our way so let me go back home and start afresh. I don’t know my next move but let’s wait to see what the future holds for me but I am indeed returning home, I am just waiting for the remaining three games in the on going season,” he said.

Kayira joined Bullets in 2012 from Escom United before leaving for the Mozambican club as a free agent in 2013. If he returns, Bullets will likely be his first choice.

He will not be the first player to return home from a professional football in the recent years. Harry Nyirenda, Joseph Kamwendo and Foster Namwera all rejoined Wanderers after returning from proffessional football.
