Devotion: Make a definite choice

Isaiah 26 : 3 ” You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.”

Do you want peace in your mind, then make a definite choice. Dont be double minded.Jas 1:7-8 WEB* “For that man shouldn’t think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

A double minded minded is the one who is not fixed on a particular thing. He is divided between two or several opinions. He hasnt yes settled for a single course of action. He doesnt have a single vision for a single mission. He is unsettled or unstable person.Such people dont excel in life. Gen 49:4 KJV “Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel.”

Learn to settle for one choice. God gave us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in settling for a specific choice in life. Dont sit at a fence and pretend as if you are neutral. Make a definite choice and let it be known to others. Dont hesitate between two two opinions. 1 Kings 18:21 “Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him a word.”

Whether you want to make a business, job, ministry or other life time decisions, its better to settle for one thing instead of being at the fence where you havent yet settled for anything. Every time you make a major decision pray first. After praying over it, listen to what God says by listening to the voice in your spirit. The spirit of man receives things from the spirit of God(1 Cor 2:14). Then make a definite decision and be ready to enjoy and bear all the consequences and any outcomes.

Only those who make definite decisions excel in life.

Prayer: Father thank you for helping me make the right decisions. Through your Holy Spirit I will always make right and definite decisions where there is need for a decision. I refuse to be on the fence. In Jesus Name. Amen
