All is set for premiere of the much awaited showbiz programme Base 265 Urban on Timveni Television as its first episode goes on air this coming Friday.
Hosted by the duo of Donald Zane Zimba and Cynthia Zone Zulu, the show will be hitting the airwaves every Friday from 8PM to 9PM and repeated every Saturday from 4PM to 5PM.
Produced by celebrity video producer, Ron CZ, under his Red Ink Media Company, the programme comes amidst an ocean of locally produced urban shows on most television stations in Malawi, a factor argued to be conducive for competition.
Base 265 Urban will be shining the spotlight on Malawi celebrities along entertainment lines with updates on fashion and sports among other areas. It will also include a live video mixing segment which will see visuals take turns.
Morale is high ahead of the premiere with Malawians expressing hunger for the urban television show which they postulate promises international standards. Some people shared their views with Malawi24 yesterday.
Chikumbutso Hiwa, a Blantyre resident said: “This show promises great entertainment from the motherland, I can tell it will be one of a kind and that is what we need if we are to have a vibrant entertainment industry in Malawi.”
Lilongwe resident Nyokase Manda said: “I have watched the program’s highlights and I can confidently say this is a milestone in local showbiz.”
The programme is expected to benefit artists through playing their music videos. In Base 265 Urban, new music videos will also enjoy their first airplay.
