Malawi youth warned over dubious employment agents
Malawi government through the ministry of labour, sports, youths and manpower development has warned young people in the country over dubious employment agents who dump them after demanding money.
For a while, Malawi has registered cases of fake employment agents who demand money from desperate young Malawians searching for jobs in the country.
Taking its position on the matter, the ministry has warned people behind the malpractice saying they are to face the law once caught demanding money from the youths for employment.
The minister responsible Henry Mussa also warned youths to investigate before paying for an agent claiming to have employment opportunities.
“All those that are doing that they should know that it is against the law doing such things in this country and let me also take the opportunity to advise the youths that much as we agree that there are fake agents they must know that there are also those that are recommendable by government,” said Mussa.
Local economic experts have since disclosed that the practice of dubiously getting money from unemployed youths is due to high level of unemployment rate in the country.
The experts added that the big reason behind the trend is due to financial woes that the country is sailing in.
