Nominations to various categories of the flagship Urban Music Party (UMP) Music Awards are already on to a flying start just 24 hours after the voting lines opened.

Voting started yesterday, Monday 19 September 2016 as up to 11 categories were placed for grabs this time around.

The event hits the skies of Blantyre on 6 November 2016 at the BAT Ground.

According to UMP Publicist Kimpho Loka, the progress looks very promising and shows how engaged people are to the awards this year.

‘’We expect a lot of excitement, public engagement and intense campaigning – this is already happening. This is good for the continued maturity of Malawi’s urban music industry,” he said when giving an update on the voting process earlier this morning.
