While the youngsters relied on the services of Francis Mkanda on goal, Keston Kasonga, Timothy Gova, Hendrix Misinde, Bernard Chimaimba, Hendrix Misinde, Patrick Phiri, and Semion Singa.

The match started on a slow note but some nice passing by both teams was enough to make people cheer the teams

The coordination between Wizard’s short attacker Patrick Phiri, Hendrix Misinde, and Simeon Singa was strong enough to give the Chiradzulu based boys’ defence a tough time.

Five minutes before the end of the first half, a pass by Phiri found Kondwani Majoni whose shot landed at the back of the net.

Two minutes later, Bernard Chimaimba made it 2-0 after connecting well to Phiri’s 15 metre drive.

But Maxi pulled one back on the stroke of half time through Sparrow Msowoya.

In the second half, some permutations were made as Maxi brought in the former Malawi international Jacob Ngwira and Thoko Mbandambanda while Wizards introduced Jimmy Chikulekule and Blessings Phiri as they released the Phiri and Timothy Gova.

The second half saw both teams visiting each other’s danger area but Bernard Chimaimba went closest when his chip hit the cross bar. At the end Wizards emerged 2-1 victors.

Speaking after the match, Technical director for Premier Bet Wizards Peter Mponda hailed his side for managing back to back wins.

Elsewhere in the Super League, Kamuzu Barracks beat Red Lions 2-0 after goals from Ben Hojan and Manasseh Chiyesa.
