The second week of the second round fixtures in the TNM Super League kicks off this afternoon in all the three regions of the country and biggest clash of the week will be between Mzuni FC and Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium.

Ever since joining the top flight last season, the Green Intellectuals have never lost to Moyale Barracks with the latest win being a 1-nil victory over the Soldiers in the first round of the league at the same venue.

The Soldiers are coming from a disappointing 1-nil defeat to Azam Tigers last week and this will definitely force themselves to bounce back if they are to challenge for the championship.

However, it won’t be an easy ride considering how the students have managed to beat the Soldiers on three occasions now since last year and any mistake will see the Green Intellectuals claiming important points over the Mzuzu based Soldiers. The two teams are only separated by a point on the log table.

At MDC Stadium, struggling Wizards FC and Civo Service United will battle it out for maximum points in another epic encounter between the two sides.

Both teams have had a mixed start to the second round with Wizards losing 2-nil to defending league champions Big Bullets while Civo were held to a goalless draw away to Epac FC.

Wizards have already conceded two goals in a single match and it is this defensive frailty that Civo will be looking to take advantage of. These two teams are genuine relegation contenders and whosoever collects three points will have all the reasons to start believing that it’s possible to escape the chop.

At Chitowe Stadium, Dwangwa United will play host to Azam Tigers. This will be a cracker too considering the fact that the home side collected their first three points in the first round after beating the visitors hence Tigers will be vying for a revenge.

Dwanga lost their opening match 3-2 to Karonga United while Tigers managed to collect all the points over Moyale Barracks at Kalulu Stadium.

In another game on Saturday, Max Bullets will entertain Kamuzu Barracks at Mpira Village.

On Sunday, defending league champions Bullets will play host to Kamuzu Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium. This will promises to be a fierce encounter since the Soldiers won the reverse fixture 1-nil in Lilongwe and Bullets will be looking to avenge that defeat in front of their vocal supporters.

The People’s Team are now third on the standings with 28 points and a victory will ensure that they remain in contention to defend their title. However, a win will not be easy against a rejuvenated Kamuzu Barracks side.

At Chitowe, Tigers will be hosted by Mafco FC who are now fourth after losing their opening game away to Kamuzu Barracks last week.

Elsewhere on Sunday Super League leaders Blue Eagles will be welcomed by the unpredictable Epac FC at Civo Stadium.

With Bullets a few points behind them, the area 30 cops will surely go for all the points knowing that a mistake will allow the defending champions to close in on them in the race for the title. As for the hosts, their main target this year is to finish in the top five and if they are to achieve that goal, they must beat Eagles to prove all their doubters wrong.
