…promises to fight fire with fire
The African Traditionalist Government of the United States of Thyolo and Mulanje (MUST) says the arrest of 17 people in Mulanje was tantamount to declaring war on the district hence MUST will retaliate by fighting fire with fire.
According to a press statement signed by the president for People’s Land Organization (PLO) Vincent Wandale, following the aggression MUST has declared a state of war against the Republic of Malawi.
“The African Traditionalist Government of the United States of Thyolo and Mulanje (MUST) has declared a state of war against the Republic of Malawi and shall commence hostilities on Friday, the 9th of September, in the year 2016 to ward off the foreign aggression unleashed by the Republic of Malawi,” said Wandale in the statement.
He also called on neighbours Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia to take note of the impending war.
On Thursday, Malawi police officers teargassed people of Mulanje and Thyolo who were set to share some land in the districts. According to Wandale, during the fracas several people suffered injuries as they were beaten by the police.
He said his group will use the war to free the 17 people detained by the police and ensure that their action of sharing all uncultivated colonial estate lands across Thyolo and Mulanje goes on without a similar foreign disturbance.
“This state of war shall end only after all 17 people are unconditionally freed, all their damaged property compensated and the injured treated and compensated. In addition, there shall be need for an assurance that no more interference shall be unleashed by the Government of Malawi on the sovereign state of MUST from then into the future,” said Wandale.
Meanwhile, Wandale has asked all citizens of the African Traditionalist Republic of MUST to gear up for war and undergo military training.
