A 41-year-old man is admitted at Ntchisi District Hospital after attempting to commit suicide over a quarrel with his wife concerning money from tobacco sales.
The incident happened on Sunday August 21 2016 at Chapingama Village. Police have identified the man as Lawrence Kasokota of Chapingama Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in Ntchisi.
Police investigations indicate that the suspect has had family issues with his second wife as she accused him of failure to share with her the money realised from tobacco sales.
It is alleged that the suspect’s wife plotted to set ablaze their house which angered the suspect to commit suicide by taking drugs meant for tobacco nursery.
The suspect was rescued by his son after taking two tubes of liquid drugs.
