Malawi Super League first round grosses K239m

…Bullets lead in earnings

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has released the 2016 gross gate collections for the 120 first round games and Nyasa Big Bullets lead in earnings among clubs.

According to information made available to Malawi24, K239 million was realized with teams getting 38 percent of the total gross collections.

Big Bullets, who are the country’s crowd pullers, lead the earnings chart with K22.2 million seconded by their cross town rivals Mighty Wanderers with K18.9 million.

Silver Strikers are third with K8.7 million whilst rookies Max Bullets are anchoring the table with K1.8 million.

Sulom and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) shared K18.2 million each whilst other stakeholders notably Police, Cashiers and Stewards received K56.5 million in total representing 24 percent of the gross collections.

Ground owners got K45.6 million representing 19 percent of the collected gross.

This season’ collection has surpassed last season’s first round gate collections which totalled K191.5 million Kwacha.
