Zambezi youth hold national conference

Young People from Zambezi Evangelical Church are holding a conference aimed at enhancing their spiritual lives.

The conference which attracts members of Zambezi Evangelical Church Fellowship of Youth (FOY) and youths from other denominations started on 11 August 2016 at Salima Secondary School in Salima.

In an interview with Malawi24 on Thursday, Zambezi Evangelical Church national youth coordinator Gift Mphongolo said young people should expect a lot from the conference.

“The youth should expect a lot, this year’s programs will be different from other conferences, for it is reaching the whole life of the youth, both spiritual, and social,” said Mphongolo.

Zambezi Evangelical ChurchHe added that the event will contain prominent speakers who are experts on different issues such as academic and spiritual balancing, entrepreneurship, and contemporary issues affecting the youth and how to face them.

Mphongolo then urged young people from all Zambezi Evangelical Churches and all walks of life to converge at Salima Secondary School to acquire and sharpen their knowledge in both sectors of human life.

“We have also added sporting activities, talent show, movie, and the youth will have time for the lake visit just to appreciate the God’s creation” he added.

The year’s Zambezi national youth conference is under the theme “Unless the Lord builds the house” taken from Psalms 127 verse 1 of the Holy Scriptures.

Some of the keynote speakers at the conference will be director of Soul for Jesus International Ministry Pastor Sozera, Director for Zambezi Mission Pastor Chikwana, economist and former minister of finance Honourable Friday Jumbe, Pastor Magret Chodzi, and Patrick Kaudzu.
