A Kabaza operator in Nkhotakota district on Wednesday wrestled with two thieves and managed to recover stolen goats but the criminals run away using his bicycle.
According to Nkhotakota Police Public Relations Officer Sub Inspector Williams Kaponda, the bicycle operator met the thieves after they had stolen the three goats and killed them.
“The bicycle tax operator was coming from kariba direction heading towards St Annes Hospital when he reached at old Admarc within Nkhotakota trading centre he met two men cycling on one bicycle but they were with three killed goats which made him suspicious,” said Kaponda.
When the Kabaza operator asked them about the goats, the criminals started running away. But the man caught up with them and after a scuffle he recovered the goats.
However, the thieves took hold of the operator’s bicycle and went away with it.
As we published the story, the owner of the goats was yet to be identified. Meanwhile investigations are underway to arrest the suspected thieves and recover the bicycle.
