A United States of America (USA) businessman has urged Malawians to take business as a mission that can help in evangelization of the gospel to citizens.

Speaking to members of the press in Blantyre on Tuesday, Richard Hamlet who runs businesses in his home country, called on Malawians to help others through what they have been blessed with.

Hamlet who is also an evangelist further advised businessmen in the country to put God first in every activity arguing that most people tend “to value their profits than God”.

The businessman is in Malawi to attend a festival which is aimed at letting other people know the love of God, the Love Malawi Festival.

In an interview with Malawi24, the American businessman said the festival that is to take place in Blantyre over the weekend will see more people discovering the power of sharing blessings from the creator with needy citizens.

“The focus of the festival is to reach out the community of Blantyre, sharing the love of God, and I hope people are to get excited over the week end,” said Hamlet.

More than 700 churches have collaborated with Andrew Palau and Luis Palau Association partner evangelists in Malawi for a significant effort to foster unity and reach out with the good news through love during the festival.

The campaign will visit five of Malawi’s districts including the capital city Lilongwe as well as Dzaleka Refugee Camp which host people from countries such as Ethiopia, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

From Friday to Sunday last week, Evangelists Keith Cook, Daniel King, and P.J. Meduri kicked off the campaign in Ntcheu and Mzuzu.

This weekend, evangelist Richard Hamlet will share the Good News in Blantyre, Reid Saunders in Zomba, while Alan Greene and Andrew Palau will be at Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

The campaign will conclude with a two-day festival at the open fields by Maula Prison in the heart of Malawi and the nation’s capital city, Lilongwe.

During the event, professional action sports athletes Vic Murphy, John Andrus and their team from the United States will perform BMX stunts, and will be joined by an FMX team from South Africa, while local gospel artists are to spice up the festival with music.
