Bullets duo seal Tanzania loan move

Despite having injury concerns, Nyasa Big Bullets FC have loaned out defender Sankhani Mkandawire and goalkeeper Owen Chaima to Kinnah Phiri’s Tanzanian side Mbeya FC, Malawi24 can reveal.

According to a statement made available to this publication, the duo have secured a one year loan deal each at the Tanzanian side but Bullets as a club will not get any penny from the deals.

As a result the two will not be paid their signing-on-fee amounting to K5 million as a condition for leaving the club as free agents.

“We will not receive anything from Mbeya for the loan deals because the players were yet to get paid their signing on fee so we have just agreed to let them join Mbeya for free but they will not get their signing on fee amounting to K5 million.”

“We will use the said amount in recruiting new players once the local transfer window re-opens next week,” said Bullets General Secretary Kelvin Moyo.

Asked as to why the club has loaned out the players despite having more injured players in the on-going season, Moyo said:

“We had no choice because the deal was already struck between Bullets and our friends from Tanzania under the former Chairman Sam Chilunga so we thought it wise not to block them from leaving despite having more players on the sidelines.”

Mkandawire and Chaima have already left the country for Tanzania where they will be expected to sign the deals.

Bullets will be without Bashir Maunde, John Lanjesi, Pilirani Zonda and Chikondi Likwemba for their crucial games against Mafco and Dwanga United in the Carlsberg Cup and Super League respectively.
