“What we did was to write a proposal to them and they were convinced with what we explained. We met some weeks ago to finalize everything.”

“It wasn’t easy running a club without sponsors. We are very grateful for this gesture and we will do whatever it takes to safeguard the sponsorship. We will not reveal details of the contract but it’s an open sponsorship agreement,” he said.

On the team’s survival in the top flight, Kondowe said: “We are very optimistic of surviving the chop in the top flight because we have brought in some well experienced players so we are definitely here to stay,” he explained.
