MTV Maxi Bullets and Karonga United have completed their games in the first round of the 2016 Tnm Super League on a brighter note after registering vital wins on Sunday.
Maxi Bullets beat Mafco fc to register their first win of the season though the league minnows are still anchoring the log table with 7 points from 15 games.
They are however only five points away from safety and will have numerous chances to get out of the drop zone in the second round.
At Mzuzu Stadium, Karonga United registered their second win of the campaign and they are ranked on position 13 with 11 points, a point away from safety.
Other teams which have completed their first round of games are Moyale Barracks, Kamuzu Barrack, Civo United and Red Lions.
Moyale Barracks concluded the first round with a 1 nil win over their fellow brothers in arms Red Lions last Saturday in Mzuzu and the Kaning’ina boys are now ranked third with 27 points from 15 matches.
Things were however not rosy for their fellow soldiers Red Lions who, after losing to Moyale, also lost to Karonga United on Sunday to finish the first round on position 12 with 14 points.
Milius Pofera Jegwe’s Civo United have also completed their 2016 first round on a disappointing note after they were beaten by Dwangwa United 2-1 at Civo stadium.
The civil servants have collected 16 points and are ranked 11th on the table, five points above the drop zone.
Lilongwe based soldiers Kamuzu Barracks’ last game of the first round was a 2-1 loss to Be Forward Wanderers on Saturday at Kamuzu stadium. The soldiers have ended the round on position 8.
