He came like the promised ‘mesiah’ when he secured a multi-million sponsorship package for Nyasa Big Bullets F.C but Sam Chilunga‘s reign as chairman at the peoples team is over, Malawi24 can confirm.
According to information made available to Malawi24, delegates at the just ended Annual General Meeting for Bullets on Saturday, Chilunga was voted out of power due to his incompetent in running the affairs of the club.
The team’s trustees, executive committee and supporters committee resolved to appoint former Treasurer Noel Lipipa as the new chairman, with Hassan Jusab coming in as his deputy.
However, Kelvin Moyo, who was also on the verge of being ousted as the team’s General Secretary has survived the chop, with Alex Gondwe being appointed Bullets’ Treasurer.
Some months ago, sponsors Nyasa Manufacturing Company warned some section of main executive committee to stay away from Chilunga if they want something good for the club.
Months down the line, the situation has changed and it is still known as to whether the company will continue sponsoring the team without Chilunga.
In supporters main executive committee, Stone Mwamadi has returned his position as the chairman, with Bruno Gama coming in as the vice chairman.
